When you become a parent, life forces you to learn lessons at a very rapid pace.

Before Kyler-Rose I lived my life in the fast lane. I had my fair share of successes and failures. And not to focus on the failures, but those taught me my most valuable life lessons.
Fast forward to today, and looking back on many of my failures, I see many of those have come from me being impatient, doubtful, inconsistent, lacking discipline, indecisive, impatient and more impatient. I am blogging open diary style, when I share these thoughts. I mean I was very young and driven by taking risks. I was missing it! But I made typical mistakes as a young adult. For me my happiness ran my life. If I lost interest or wasn’t happy I would be done with it.
However, making those sort of moves or choices are no longer an option because as a parent, you do not have the option to live the selfish life. It was an adjustment I had to make fast but I uncovered the meaning of “it’s not about you any more.” No your life is in no way shape or form over, but your life does take a drastic halt. Your interests change and so does your conversations. I can comfortable say for me, having my daughter was for the best. I am still learning each day, but I am stronger and more aware now than ever before.
Reading this may not be a big deal to you, but it was a huge adjustment for me. I am still chasing my dreams and I say: it's not about JUST you anymore, it's about you and your plus one, who depends on you and your choices.
