My First Mommy Meet Up

Meeting with new mothers, mothers or even expecting moms gives you an opportunity to talk about your experiences and future goals for your children. It also feels good because you can converse about your baby for hours and not feel guilty or misunderstood. I wish I linked up with expecting mothers while Kyler-Rose was in my tummy. But nevertheless, I have been making new mom friends and I love it! I love to network and this is just another way to reach people with common interests. I especially enjoy hanging out, looking cute and drinking wine while we "awwwhh" over one another's baby.

Today, I met up with a new mom and her son. Although I meet new moms in a number of ways, I used the mommy meet up app called Peanut. I plan on using the app as I develop some of the activities and events I want to put together in the future geared towards moms. Back to Peanut....

With the app, you create a free profile and they match you with other moms who interests are similar. They base the matches on what you fill out and they provide you with a variety of interests to pick from. After meeting Bree on the app and talking to her for a few days we decided to schedule a day out. I was a little hesitant at first for a number of reasons, but after actually talking to Bree and conversing on FaceTime to confirm her true existence, I was excited to finally meet another young new mom.

We met in D.C. and spend hours talking about EVERYTHING, from how we found out we were pregnant, to the habits of our new babies. We ate and enjoyed drinks and the plus was both our babies behaved so well.

We really enjoyed ourselves and I encourage new moms to link with other new moms because it's awesome to meet in such a supportive space. Just remind me not to wear heels when we are doing a lot of walking. lol.
