As a first time expecting mother, I am so eager to learn as much about pregnancy and what to expect from motherhood. One day I was scrolling on my Instagram timeline and saw that one of my favorite women, Kelly Rowland had a book titled Whoa, Baby. On the cover it says “a guide for new moms who feel overwhelmed and freaked out.” I felt compelled to purchase my own copy of the book because that was exactly how I had been feeling about giving birth and becoming a mom.

Reading the book was a breath of fresh air. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that celebrities face struggles because of the way the media portrays them. In the book, Kelly really opens up about the real. I love how she shared her personal experiences and incorporated professional advice from her OB/GYN, Dr. Bickman, MD.
Being that I am still pregnant, the first three chapters are a reflection of my current being. Questions like “what do I do now?” and “is there anything I can do to make this easier?” all play in my head over and over. The remainder of the book really educates about the “what if’s” of the before and after.
Overall the tone of the book is inviting and real. I would recommend mother’s to be and new moms to read this book. It is very easy to get wrapped into the book and stay interested.
Thank you Kelly for sharing your story and resources with us!
